We’ll Get Em Next Time
Haley ReepWell, I guess it’s the closest the Jacksonville Jaguars could have come to the Superbowl this year. I’m predicting lots of cuts for the new season, I can think of three right off the top of my head just from watching the game this weekend. Of course it was the Patriots and Tom Brady can do no wrong, but we had a fighting chance and the stupid little mistakes like missed tackles and blatantly dropped passes threw the Jags under the loser bus. And to think, if by some miracle we did win, we could have totally destroyed the Chargers. Things are looking up though. I was getting nervous because I kept hearing that Wayne Weaver was going to pack up the team and move them to LA. Eww, don’t they have enough already. East coast is where it’s at. Plus who would we have to cheer for? The Dolphins? No thanks, I think I’ll have a better chance rootin for the UNF basketball team… Go Ospreys! The fans turned out though. Hopefully it stays that way and Weaver gives Jacksonville a chance to prove that the people who didn’t cheer for another team 13 years ago really do support the Jaguars.
Thus bringing me to the next stop of my whirl-winding agenda. I want to cheer for The Roar. Well I wouldn’t exactly say cheer since they barley tumble and sport absolutely no stunts. The dance part remains though and I plan on trying out for the squad this year. Considering I did gymnastics from age 2 to 12, danced from 12 to the present and did competitive All-star cheerleading from 17 to 20, I feel it’s the next best thing. I might as well get paid the lousy 50 bucks a game to be so close to the action and cheer on my team. I was going to tryout last year, but I was turning 21 the night before the first audition set to start at like 8am, so I decided I should probably wait till next year because puking during a double pirouette isn’t exactly nailing the audition. I’m really excited though because this year’s audition is fairly soon, in March and I can’t wait.
So the plan is, I make The Roar, the Jags go to the Superbowl, therefore meaning I would possibly get to go to the Superbowl. YES, brilliance is working on my side. Hopefully everything works out because I think I missed my window of opportunity for The Real World so I need a backup for great stories to tell my grand kids one day. So now since the Jaguars got screwed by their division and didn’t get a chance to make it to the Superbowl, I think I’m gonna root for Brett Favre and Green Bay. I’m pretty sure it will be Green Bay and New England at the end. Brett needs to go out with a bang, plus Boston has taken enough already, they need to share the wealth.
